Publishing an academic book is not the current choice of academic staff for several reasons including lengthy periods and so on.
In that regard, on 20th February 2019, the School of Aerospace Engineering took the initiative to hold a Sharing Sessions on Producing and Publishing Academic Books by our academic staff. This sharing session is divided into 2 sessions:
The first session was presented by Associate Professor Dr. Amir Yazid Ali, a Senior Lecturer at School of Mechanical Engineering to share about his experience and joy of producing and publishing academic books, mostly on 'engineering knowledge'. He shared about tips that are necessary and unnecessary to be considered in production of an academic books.
The second session was presented by representatives from USM Publisher. The session was mostly related to editorial matters as well as matters relating to the terms and methods of published books as well as the costs involved.
Thousands of appreciation for both speakers who are willing to spend their time and willing to share their knowledge and experience with staff and also postgraduate students at the School of Aerospace Engineering.
Hopefully all the audience will get the ideas to begin producing their own book now.
