On 11 October 2019, the School of Aerospace Engineering was honoured to receive a visit from our alumnus, Mr. Lee Chon Kiat. During this visit, he gave a workshop on “Aerospace Structural Mechanical Simulation”. This workshop consists of 2 parts: 1) aerospace structure design, and 2) mechanical simulation with ANSYS demonstration. At the end of his talk, he also shared his aerospace career history with our undergraduates. There were around 45 participants who took part in the event.
Mr. Lee Chon Kiat is an aerospace structures professional in OEM industry for 12 years. He is currently a Senior Engineer at Continental Automotive.
He received his BEng (Hons) degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia in 2007 and MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2013.
He started his career as an Aircraft Designer with Avcen in 2007 and joined NORDAM Nacelles & Thrust Reverser Systems (based in Singapore) in 2008 as a Stress Engineer. In 2013, He moved to Pratt & Whitney and CYIENT Singapore as Senior Technical Lead. He has experience in airframe, nacelle and gas turbine engine mechanical design and repair simulation.
