Drone Club of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM Drone Club) is a pioneer club spearheaded by the students of Aerospace Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia to introduce the importance and knowledge about drones. USM Drone Club was established in September 2018 with the idea to expose drone technologies and cultivate the passion in drones to its members. USM Drone Club will be focused in the sharing of drone knowledge to each other, building and repairing drone from scratch, piloting, safety requirements and drone flying session as well as opportunity to all members to share what they have learnt throughout the journey in USM Drone Club.
USM Drone Club Introduction Day was conducted on the 26th of February 2020 in Seminar Room, School of Aerospace Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). There were around 50 engineering students from Aerospace, Mechanical up to Electrical and Electronic Engineering who participated in this event. With that, USM Drone Club have a total of over 30 dedicated, enthusiastic members registered to the club from different engineering courses.
They had some amazing and incredible sharing sessions over the half day course. Firstly, it kicked off with a knowledgeable speaker, none other than their very own club advisor, Dr. Ho Hann Woei. Hailed from TU Delft University, Dr. Ho is specialised in UAVs and how to make them more intelligent.
With drones being more advanced and technological, Shanghai replaces fireworks on New Year's Eve with thousands of drones which assemble midair to create a spinning globe, a running man and a countdown in incredible light display. For more information, please click the link below.
Continued the day with the introduction of USM Drone Club's diligent panel of committee members, ranging from first year to third year Aerospace Engineering students who are not only passionate, but also dedicated in forming a platform for the consecutive batches to have a club that they can leverage on in the coming days.
Last but not least, they had their very special and talented assistant engineers, Mr. Zihad and Mr. Amir talking about drones and how it works. For an exciting ending for the day, they brought the whole spectators together with the committee members out to the field for a hands on autonomous drone piloting session. 
It was definitely thrilling and worthwhile for first tryouts. We ended the day with a memorable photo taking session together with the whole team, marking the induction of many great events in the near future ahead.
