The School of Aerospace Engineering USM would like to proudly share the exciting news about one of our third year student – Nuha binti Ahmad Rizal. She has recently been selected as one of the 134 official Maybank Student Ambassadors of 2021. She is also the only student representing Universiti Sains Malaysia as well as the only Aerospace Engineering student selected into this program for 2021.
The Maybank Ambassador Programme, or #Mbassador, is a year-long mentorship and development program initiated by Maybank, opened to undergraduate students from universities in Malaysia as well as from other countries. Applicants have to undergo a series of assessments and challenges during the selection process. Out of 600 over applicants, only about 200 were shortlisted into the virtual challenge round.
According to Nuha, “as a Maybank Student Ambassador, I am expected to be involved in activities throughout the year that will enable my personal and professional development, gaining relevant skills and fun experiences along the way”.
Throughout the programme, Nuha will get the opportunity to network with industry leaders, attend exclusive Maybank events and workshops where she will have excellent opportunities to hone her leadership and management skills.
For Nuha, as the sole representative of Universiti Sains Malaysia and the Aerospace Engineering discipline, she hopes that she can live up to the expectation as she will carry the name of our university as well. “I joined this programme to break the stigma that it is limited to banking, finance, accounting, and business students only. It is my biggest hope that in the future more students from USM will participate in this programme to reflect our USM Motto – We Lead!” said Nuha.
