They nailed it! A tremendous effort from the team to solve the engineering problem. Innovative System-Instrument (ISI) team from the school of Aerospace USM led by Sheikh Mohamad Naim Shikh Shatir working hard on real-life challenges.
The competition was coordinated by Spirit Aerosystems located in Subang, which runs the 5-month contest with a kick-off event last March 2022. The aim of the competition is to solve the sea freight charges impact due to Covid-19. So, the idea is to minimize the number of containers and improve the packaging boxes. Hence, contributing to space optimization that later on lessens the freight expenses.
The team was facilitated by Mr Mohd Faizzuan Bin Mohamad, represented by Spirit, who is willing to assist the team, share valuable information, and evaluate the work progress to meet the target. The other five team members including Nurul Atiqullah, Ainul Hidayah, Nurul Syakinah, Noor Atiqah, and Akmalul Hakim displayed an amazing talent in innovative approaches. With a high spirit and clear purpose, the team managed to develop their skills in designing the solutions and achieving the goal. Assoc. Prof. Dr Elmi Abu Bakar who is an advisor to the team and has been engaging with the industry for several years. And this competition is a golden opportunity for the ISI team and Dr. Safiah Zulkifli who is the team manager to get involved and polish the skills of being an effective and efficient engineer. A huge appreciation to those who have supported the team in and out.
