Fullname: Dr Pooya Lahijani Amiri
Education Background:
- BSc Mechanical Engineering, Solid Mechanics (University of Mazandaran, UMZ)
- MSc Mechanical Engineering, Energy Resources (Universiti Sains Malaysia, USM)
- PhD Mechanical Engineering, Energy Resources (Universiti Sains Malaysia, USM)
Research Background:
During his master studies, he worked on the conversion of biomass wastes into gas fuels. His PhD research was on the conversion of greenhouse gas, CO2, to the fuel gas, CO, via char gasification process.
Prior to joining to the School of Aerospace Engineering, he served as Teaching Fellow (2018-2020) at School of Chemical Engineering, USM. He was also the project manager (2018-1019) of a government funded project on large-scale production of high purity functionalized carbon nanotubes which was a collaborative effort between NanoMalaysia BhD and Usains Sdn Bhd.
Research Interest:
Renewable energy, Biomass gasification, CO2 capture and conversion, Biofuel production
Current Research:
Bio-jet fuels, Carbon nanomaterials
