Each academic year will be divided into two semesters with each semester consisting fifteen (15) weeks of teaching, learning and examinations. The examinations will be held at the end of the semester. The academic level courses can be divided into 100, 200, 300 and 400 level courses, which are equivalent to the First, Second, Third and the Fourth Year respectively. Students are allowed to register a minimum of 9 units and a maximum of 20 units each semester.The allocation for each unit depends on the category of the courses offered as listed below
Theoretical Courses
Each unit for this type of courses is equivalent to 14 hours of teaching and tutorials per semester
Practical Courses / Laboratories
Each unit is equivalent to 21 hours for each semester.
Industrial Training
This course is conducted over 10 weeks during the long break after Semester II at level 300. The training begins early May and ends before Semester I of the final year commences.
However, the status of a student will only depend on the accumulated unit the student has acquired as shown below
